RM1797 (772DYE) is for sale Owned for over 14 years, some restoration work carried out including wheels and tyres changed back to original, replaced the hopper windows, removed the tv screens on both decks and replaced them with original advert panels. Former Northern General RMF for sale in Belgium We do not usually show sales outside the UK here, but this one maybe of interest as there are a relative few number of surviving RMFs. FPT580C was exported to Belgium in 1994, has an AEC engine and was converted to open top. It is shown as priced at £65,000 but not sure if that includes VAT ! By purchasing this bus you are also purchasing, should you want it, the Silvano’s Fine Italian Bar business. Of course on purchase, if you prefer to re-brand the bus, we will dissolve the business with Companies House. About the bus: Double decker RML2676 with perfectly working Cummins Engine. In the 3 years we have owned the bus we have replaced both batteries and alternator to ensure fully working electrics. It has a newly refurbished gearbox, unfortunately second gear has no drive but we have been told this can now be fixed with minimum effort now it’s been refurbished. There are no issues whatsoever with the engine or air pressure she runs like a dream. All that was removed was the seating, apart from that it retains all its orignal features including the flooring. The cab has been newly painted and carpeted, the seat has been re-upholstered in soft pleather which makes for a very comfy drive. We had the bus wrapped but it is red underneath with all the London Transport markings so wouldn't be a big job at all to get it back to it's red colour. RML2532 has been re-advertised. It is tested to class 6 until March 2020, has a calibrated analogue tacho; rebuilt gearbox about 3 years ago; good brakes, good accumulators; good batteries; many new windows fitted; new seats (crushed strawberry pattern) about 9 years ago; repainted in 2017 for Calais sightseeing; has had new king pins, front suspension rubbers & shock absorbers. It has a Cummins C series set to 2400 rpm, top speed about 55mph; new centre prop bearing; new panhard box section fitted about 5 years ago and rear lower floor strengthened. RM2112 is for sale (21-08-14) I am looking to sell RM2112. The V5 is in my name. I bought it about 3 yrs ago with the view to restoring it; it was a wreck, well, it still is. It came out of PVS as a scrapper originally, but it can be saved. I have fitted a good A-frame, the old one had the n/s leg cut in half when PVS removed the engine. It used to be kept by the stack of old diffs and rear axles at PVS, and had the n/s front caved in: I have replaced the frame work on the o/s first 2 bays. But that’s about it, with all the projects I have on the go something’s got to give, so RM2112 and RML2403 have to go. If no one is interested in saving it, then it will be sold for spares. There are lots of spares left on it. It fact the body itself is good, good A-frame, an okay B-frame etc. etc. No engine ,gearbox, or diff. RM1797 for sale I am considering selling my 1963 Routemaster Bus RM1797. It is an ex Route 36, New Cross garage Scania engined bus. I bought it early in 1996 I have changed a few things on it. I have replaced the Hopper windows, taken out the bulkhead TV screens and replaced with original Advert panels, I also refitted the interior heater control. I rebuilt the backend using original lights and indicators. I have also fitted original front indicators and original drivers mirror. I have refitted the air intake vent, just above the drivers window. I have fitted the bus with a mid range Rear Differential, this is a DU 18, it’s a 10-tooth pinion and a 49-tooth crown wheel, giving a rear axle ratio of 4.07. It just helps on long journeys. I have also fitted the bus with original wheels and tyres. I replaced the headlight mouldings with the correct type and fitted brake vents at the same time. I also fitted a new nose to it. I think that’s about it, it has not been repainted since it was in service, apart from the back end, there are a few dents, as you would expect, but I chose to leave them, replacement panels can easily be fitted. Inside is as it was in service, but again very clean. It’s mechanically sound, with its Scania engine, I have just changed the engine oil and filters, the gearbox is fine, it has a very smooth gear change. I changed the diff, which was rebuilt before fitting, it is also fine. It is taxed and class 5 MOT’d to July 2014 and runs well. A few years ago we took it to Le Mans, no problem. The blinds do not come with the sale, they are on loan to me. I would like to think that it would be sold for onward preservation, and not be turned into a mobile café or something like that. RML2355 is now for sale, and in good working order - asking Price £25,000.00 Tax and Tested (class5) until June 2014, she remains in the original London Transport Red. Built in 1965, RML2355 first entered service in November 1965 at Garston Garage on 306 route, this bus was originally a green London Country bus. It has retained its original body through the years while being overhauled at Aldenham Bus Works. The last time it was in service, was in London on the last day of route 38 on the 28th October 2005. RML2355 has worked out of the following garages during its forty one years in service for London Transport. In Green livery, it worked at Garston, Harlow, Windsor, Northfleet and Godstone. Then in Red livery it worked at Willesden, Chiswick, Dollis Hill, Ash Grove, Hackney, Stamford Hill and finally Norwood. RML2355 is fitted with good tyres all round, the later one piece rims. It has a Cummins C Series 8.3 (160 bhp) engine. The interior has been freshened up, the interior lights have been returned to the original Tungsten bulbs. Both decks have been repainted, it has excellent seats downstairs and very serviceable ones upstairs, the staircase has also been repainted. RML 2323 (CUV 323C) is for sale - £26,000 It has its original body (B2323), original registration plate. The A & B frames, engine (Cummins C series), gearbox, interior and panels are all in good condition. Rexine, all seats, all the windows [except windscreen], floor etc. have been refurbished or replaced (and brand new batteries bought four weeks ago). We’ve taken the Transmatic lighting out and replaced it with the original “as built” bulbs, so you can imagine she looks great in the dark. It was one of only 19 RMLs painted into this livery by Aldenham and all nineteen ran from just Northfleet and Godstone. It is and remains the only one that carries this exact livery and signwriting. Therefore, it’s unique. Furthermore, she is being MOT’d this week, so it will have a years’ ticket on it as well. However, as we have never had the need to use her commercially (not Hire & Reward), she only has a Class 5 ticket, but given her condition, getting her up to Class 6 spec would not involve a lot of work or investment. All the bills since we bought it in 2004 are available as well! Should you be interested, she will be at North Weald Bus Rally on Sunday 7th July should you want to look over her “in the flesh”. Alternatively, she can be viewed (obviously with prior arrangement) in her secure barn in Essex. RML 2306 is for sale - £26,500 The bus has had much loving restoration and care over the years and has many original features including interior, LT moquette seating, tungsten bulbs, original LT colour scheme and retains the heater at the front of the bus inside. Externally, the bus has an AEC engine, original headlamps, indicator “ears”, front and rear, displays period advertising, and a set of blinds modelled on Bow LT Garage. The bus also underwent a complete repaint less than two years ago. Mechanically, the bus has no serious problems during current ownership and RML2306 runs like a dream. The bus is in good condition and has recently had a service and MOT. The vehicle is based and housed internally near Colchester, Essex and can be viewed by arrangement. RML2266 is currently for sale. (Richard Sharman asked us to add this advert.) This RML has had new Panels where needed prior to a full repaint into LT Livery, New Destination Blinds, Seats refurbished in original RM trim and still in MOT Test. She has operated for LT, Kentish Bus (in Maroon and Cream livery), Arriva London and was sold to Lothian Buses but never entered service there, instead it was purchased by RH Buses who put it on the road for Wedding Hires etc, the Vehicle was only finished around a month prior to RH going into administration in October 2011. This RML is in excellent condition and since this picture was taken; it has had the white band painted on, wheels painted in correct red, and original LT vinyls fitted. All work including the interior refurb was done by The BusWorks, at Blackpool. RCL2223 for sale RCL type Routemaster CUV 223C in full working order with Class 5 MoT to October 2013 is available for sale. It has an AEC690 engine which was fully reconditioned in 2011. The bus retains its original external appearance, except that a retractable awning has been fitted to the nearside. Internally the bus has been substantially adapted to create an exhibition/hospitality/display area. The lower deck retains 3 reupholstered nearside bench seats. Over the offside wheelarch is a locker under a work surface. The heated circulating area has provision for suspension wire displays. Two serving counters to the front and two flip-up seats on the nearside amidships are provided. The upper deck has a rear galley with hot & cold running water, microwave cooker and kettle. Seats and tables are provided for 12 in groups of 2 or 4. A mains powered space heater is provided. At the front a small office with seats for 5 and radio/CD player. A shore supply of 230volts 13 amps AC can be connected to power on-board appliances and plug-in devices, and to provide battery top-up through a built-in charger. RML2479 for sale - £59,995 This 1966 RML was commissioned for the London Olympic Games 2012 and used by Coca Cola ahead of the arrival of the Olympic torch. The bus has had over £100,000 spent on it bringing up to this standard, including pop out roof/DJ booth, full interior fit out, branding and a complete mechanical overhaul and an Onan 5KW generator. The bus is in fantastic condition inside and out and would be a fantastic centre piece of any vehicle collection, or alternatively is ready to go to work, the possibilities are endless; it was only used for a short time before the build up to the Olympics.
